Our Story: The Heart of GRCC

A Legacy of Love

The Spark & The Pivot

The Spark & The Pivot

The Gabriella Rose Community Center (GRCC) was born from a place of profound memory and a vision for a brighter future. Named in honor of Gabriella Rose, our center is built on the belief that every individual deserves a safe, inclusive space to belong. We believe a community is only as strong as the support it offers its members, and we are dedicated to being that unwavering foundation for the residents of Lansdale.

The Spark & The Pivot

The Spark & The Pivot

The Spark & The Pivot

The idea began three to four years ago as a shared athletic dream between founders Gianluca Vera LoPiccolo and Eshan Jahan. Blending their respective wrestling and Kickboxing backgrounds, they initially planned to open an independent gym. Following the heartbreaking passing of Gianluca's daughter, the dream shifted completely. Eshan suggested pivoting the gym concept to include a community-centered memorial stand—"The Rose Stand"—to offer warmth and comfort. From that single seed, Gianluca opened the vision up even further, and the concept snowballed into an unconditional, cost-free "Third Place" sanctuary for the entire town.

Why a Center?

For the Families Caught in the Middle

A Sanctuary for the Families Lansdale Forgot.

A Sanctuary for the Families Lansdale Forgot.

I grew up in the gap that so many Lansdale families live in today. My dad was always at work to keep us afloat, and my mom stayed home as long as she could before she had to go back to work, too. That left me at home with my brother, with nowhere to go. We did Scouts, but that was only once a week—the other six days, there was nothing.

Then COVID-19 hit, and the few 'Third Places' we did have were either closed or heavily restricted. My mom was forced to make the impossible choices so many parents face: deciding between rent and food, or the 'luxuries' of after-school programs. I’m building this center because no parent should have to choose between their child’s growth and their family’s survival. I’m staying here to build the sanctuary I wish I’d had. I know firsthand that when you don’t have a 'Third Place'—a sanctuary outside of home and school—it’s easy for life to take a different path. I’m not running away from the challenges of this town; I’m staying to build the place I needed when I was a kid.

A Sanctuary for the Families Lansdale Forgot.

As someone who graduated just last year, I’ve seen what happens when a town loses its heart. After the pandemic shut down our gathering spaces, the youth were left with nowhere to turn.

The GRCC is built for:

  • The 'Once-a-Week' Kids: Those who have a hobby or a club on Tuesday but are left wandering the rest of the week.
  • The Hardworking Parents: Like my mom, who shouldn't have to choose between necessities like rent and providing a safe space for their kids to grow.
  • The Siblings: Those at home together while parents are working double shifts to make ends meet.
  • The Community at Large:  We offer a Fitness & Wellness Hub, a Restorative Lounge, and a Tech Hub completely cost-free so that financial status never dictates a neighbor's potential.

Rebuilding What We Lost.

A Sanctuary for the Families Lansdale Forgot.

Rebuilding What We Lost.

Before my daughter came into my life, my whole plan was to leave Lansdale behind, escape to school, and leave this town to its own devices. But when she was born, everything changed—I knew I had to stay, work, and simply be here.

After she passed, I was faced with a defining choice: I could leave and try to run away from everything, or I could stay and do something meaningful. I chose to stay. I realized I couldn't just run away from the town where it happened; I had to turn that pain into a purpose. Instead of leaving, I am creating a place where you don't need a high income to access a high-quality life. By offering a cost-free Fitness & Wellness Hub with multiple activities, a modern Tech Hub for digital literacy, and a space for genuine connection, we are ensuring that the next generation of Lansdale has a place to go every single day—not just once a week. We are making this a town where families can thrive without having to sacrifice their basic needs.

Founder, Executive Director & Digital Lead

The Gabriella Rose Community Center began as a promise Gianluca made to his daughter, Gabriella Rose. After her passing at just one month old, Gianluca found a new sense of purpose: ensuring that no youth feels they have "nowhere to go." This commitment to creating an inclusive sanctuary for young people is deeply personal for Gianluca. Growing up in the area, he has witnessed the challenges faced by youth when they lack a safe, supportive environment. He understands how a center like this would have provided vital Lansdale community support during his own youth, and that lived experience fuels his passion to ensure the next generation has a different, more positive path. As Executive Director, Gianluca leads the organizational strategy and legal framework of the GRCC. He also serves as our Digital Lead, personally designing and managing the website and all social media platforms to enhance youth engagement and keep the Lansdale community informed and connected.

While the heart of the center is its mission, its unique identity and innovative programming are driven by Eshan Jahan. As the creative engine behind the GRCC, Eshan is responsible for the center’s forward-thinking concepts and outreach vision. Eshan’s influence extends beyond a traditional community center; he develops the creative blueprint for how the GRCC serves as an inclusive sanctuary, engaging the Lansdale community through high-impact activities designed to inspire youth engagement. His ability to turn a mission into a movement is what makes the GRCC a truly modern 'Third Place.'

Anna LoPiccolo

Director of Community Engagement & Board Secretary

Anna LoPiccolo serves as a cornerstone of the Gabriella Rose Community Center, bringing a profound blend of professional expertise and personal devotion to her dual roles. As Director of Community Engagement, Anna leads the charge in building authentic connections and fostering a sense of belonging for every individual who walks through our doors. In her capacity as Board Secretary, she ensures the organization’s mission remains grounded in integrity and clear purpose.

For Anna, this work is deeply personal. As the grandmother (Nonnina) of Gabriella Rose, she is the primary steward of the spirit that defines this center. Her commitment is fueled by the desire to keep Gabriella’s light shining by providing the community with the resources and warmth that her granddaughter (Nipotina) embodied.

As the mother of our founder, Gianluca, Anna offers a unique perspective on the center’s necessity. Having raised her sons in this community, she recognizes how a space like the GRCC would have been a transformative resource during his own youth—a realization that drives her to ensure today's young people have the support system they deserve.

Throughout her life, Anna has faced personal hardships with a resilience that has only strengthened her purpose to serve. Her goal has remained singular and unshakable: to help people. Whether she is coordinating community outreach or managing board governance, Anna’s work is a testament to the power of turning lived experience into a lifelong mission of empathy and unity.

A Note from the Founder

Lansdale is my home, and as a kid growing up here, I often felt the lack of a true "Third Space"—a sanctuary between home and school where you could just be without the pressure of a membership or a purchase. The Gabriella Rose Community Center (GRCC) is the manifestation of what I wish I’d had back then: a no-barrier environment built for everyone.

As a Biotechnology major, I’ve seen firsthand how innovation and STEM can change a person's trajectory. I’m currently balancing my college credits with the work of launching this center because I believe access to technology and wellness shouldn't be a privilege—it should be a community standard.

Whether you are here to progress in our Wellness Center, innovate in our Tech Hub, or simply find a quiet place to exist in our Lounge, know that this space was built with you in mind. We are actively raising a $50,000 Launch Fund to kickstart phase one, which focuses on bringing portable, mobile outreach programs directly into the Lansdale community. As an officially registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, your early support is fully tax-deductible and helps us build the foundation for our permanent physical home in mid-2027.

Thank you for being part of this journey!
